The National Honor Society is an organization sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. This prestigious organization seeks to recognize students who have exemplified the qualities required for admission. These qualities, based on the four pillars of NHS, are Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.

At Civic Memorial High School, being a member of the National Honor Society is both an honor and a responsibility and is never based on grades alone. However, students must meet minimum GPA requirements and core class requirements to be considered. Should you decide to pursue membership, you will have obligations to our NHS chapter. The National Honor Society elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. As such, NHS chapters and students care not only about student achievement, but also about community engagement.
